Dear Colleagues and Students
As many of you know, Qinghai has been hit hard by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake, which has claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people and left tens of thousands of victims desperately in need of help. In this connection, I sincerely urge you to support the university-wide campaign to collect donations from the PolyU community for the victims. I have pledged to donate a sum of $10,000 to support this initiative.

As many of you know, Qinghai has been hit hard by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake, which has claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people and left tens of thousands of victims desperately in need of help. In this connection, I sincerely urge you to support the university-wide campaign to collect donations from the PolyU community for the victims. I have pledged to donate a sum of $10,000 to support this initiative.

The PolyU community has always contributed generously for the relief of victims of natural disasters. I am sure that all of you will again be willing to lend a helping hand and show your care by contributing generously to this worthy cause.

You can deposit your donation into a special PolyU bank account (024-280-277476-009) at the Hang Seng Bank on or before 30 April 2010 (Friday). Donations raised will be forwarded to the Qinghai Government via the Central Government’s Liaison Office in Hong Kong.-
If you wish to obtain a receipt (receipt will be issued by the Central Government’s Liaison Office), please remember to send the bank-in slip, together with your personal particulars, to your Departmental coordinator for onward transmission to Ms Sharon Yau of the Communications and Public Affairs Office.

各位理大同事、同學：
相信大家都已知道，青海最近發生七點一級強烈地震，造成超過二千人死亡及數以萬計災民痛失家園，他們亟待各界救援。我呼籲各位捐款救助，讓災民感受到香港理工大學的支持與關懷。我已率先認捐港幣壹萬元，藉表心意。
過去數次天災，理大仝人都慷慨解囊，當仁不讓。相信這次大家亦會伸出同情之手，盡力協助劫後的災民。
請各位把捐款於二零一零年四月三十日（星期五）或以前，存入本校特別為賑災募捐而在恒生銀行開立的帳戶（帳號﹕024-280-277476-009）。所有捐款將經香港中聯辦轉交青海政府作賑災之用。
如需要捐款收條（捐款可獲香港中聯辦發給收據），可將銀行存根，連同個人資料，交所屬部門統籌同事收集，再轉交傳訊及公共事務處游雪霞女士辦理。
懇請各位響應呼籲，大力捐輸!
