A trip to Kam Shan Country Park

Dear friends
-
Today is sunday, 29th in July 2007, it is sunny day.
-
After a tea fight, about 4:00pm, I recommended my friends to have a look at Kam Shan Country Park because it is positioned close to the urban district in Kowloon and not far from our gathering point for tea. In fact, Kam Shan Country Park is a popular destination for morning and leisure walker, also it is famous for its macaque monkeys, these monkeys like to gather near the reservior and along the roadside of Tai Po Road where they await food from passers-by.
-
In 2002, It was an indelible experience that happened to my family, a monkey seemed reluctant to see visitors walking into the base area which it managed and the monkey itself demonstrated a dislike for my family, we ALL got a scare by its surprising behavior...At that time, I did not know what had happened, maybe the possible cause stemming from a thing happened at a wrong place and at wrong time. As you may imagine what would then be happened, almost all macaques came down on the monkey as it was a member of macaques kingdom at Kam Shan Country Park, the worst case was that they also came very close to my family.

-
Quite often, visitors ought not to feed these wild macaques as uncontrolled feeding has led to unnatural growth of the monkey population and caused nuisances to their group, and to all visitors like my family's story raised. All of these macaques are extremely aggressive to ask for foods, please do go there neither alone nor carrying plastic bags, they must follow you and try to rob your belongings. Let's cracke a joke, if someone says something to these macaques, such as "Money is Everything" or "Money can buy the dream" ...I assure you that Monkeys will then ask people where is your money, not ask for "Garden Life Bread", Soda Biscuits, Grapes or 375ml Vitasoy.
-
Not to mention the pawky monkeys, Kam Shan provides tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scene with all vistors, each visitor following the park rules would be able to enjoy and appreciate the serene atmosphere as the views would help him/her feel relaxed and refresh both his/her body and mind. In addition, I found that there are two groups of macaques, one is pawky (a group of naughty monkeys), another one is humanoid (a group of nice monkeys), I am pleased to introduce my new friends (a group of humanoid monkeys) to you and hope you can find them at Kam Shan Country Park when you visit there:

LET'S WORK FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT

Today is 24th, it is a sunny day.

Dear Friends
-
A lot of people today talk about "modern", "new wave" and "generation gap" all the time. These differences between generations are formed mainly because of variations in educational and cultural backgrounds, and differences in concepts and perspectives. If you can respect to your friends, and the old generation at times, not only keep an eye on your family, there would not be such a problem as an invisible wall.
-
In fact, the wall paper I took it on last sunday at the rear door of Wong Tai Sin Walfare Centre, the location is quite near at the Wong Tai Sin Bus Terminal. It promotes the concept of respect for all people and encourages the people to set the example of respecting the elderly, their friends and next generations. A better job for HONG KONG will be conducted in a cordial atmosphere so long as a good message can bring effectively to all HONG KONG people.
-
If you don't understand what is said above, I cordially invite you to visit the wall paper and truly feel for the meaning. or you may reach me at my 24-hours Emergency Hot Line (9125 9874) for a face-to-face lesson.

RIGHT TREATMENT FOR BACKACHE

Dear friends,

Today is 19th, it is a sunny day.
-

As you may know that I have been suffering from severe backache for a long period, a person who suffering from a severe pain in back will never feel happy working, eating or doing any other day-to-day work. To minimize the pain in my back, I relied on the traditional treatment (Herbal) in the beginning but it did not work very well to my backache in the end, and it cost me a great number of money for 10 - 12 times of herbal curing.
-
The people said, backache to all men is a great problem, and it makes the patient to be painful at the level of 9 (Remark: Childbearing at 10th level,生仔是十級). and furthermore a long long tail will follow the patient over a life. Fortunately, a tunning point changed my life and led me to the doctor after I had met a taxi driver during the way I rushed to take the traditional treatment. The taxi driver advised me against choosing the wrong curing as a right way will treat the backache. If opting for the right curing, the backache would not aggrevate and be treated properly....he stressed.
-
Also, that driver also taught me to go to swimming pool every day and to choose the physical treatment (he said, physical treatment was a right way to treat my back pain).
-

(Picture 1)
-
To get rid of my backache, I went to the X-ray center for a thorough check, the film showing the aged bones in the spinal column were wore off and formed sharp edge (see arrows) is listed in Picture 1 above, the aging was due to my unhealthy lifestyle in the past twenty years, the doctor told me that back is a composition of muscles, bones and elastic tissues, the gap in between the bones in the spinal column contains some soft and elastic tissues, the function of these tissues is like a protective pad to prevent heavy pressure and vibration from directly being added by the half-top body.
-
Physical talking, it should be impossible to safely support the load when the pad is aged. With passage of time, the clearance in between the bones will be smaller than its orginal form. Gradually, the affected bones will be touching and wearing with each other until a painful signal brings you into a great attention.
-
I have been suffering from acute pain in the lower and middle portion of my back for a long time (not less than 1.5 months), the pain made me roll from side to side of my chair at the first week, I could then neither sit nor work in front of my computer desk. Such kind of pain in back may attribute to my unhealthy lifestyle, for example an improper posture while lifting heavy objects in my youthful time, and continusous sitting long hours in a same posture when working at office or at home. Tracing back to the wrong-doing from my past few years, I was sitting on a chair with no support over a lasting period of 5-6 hours... and sometime til to mid-night for chasing the deadlines of assignments, project reports.. and presentation materials.
-
In order to have an improvement, I changed a chair with supporting base, and put a soft pad on the chair. Also I will try to walk a little after sitting continuously for 1 - 1.5 hours. Swimming, walking and keeping on diet are also a good way to care for the back. I searched some effective ways on the internet, those remedies are simple and easy to follow..Yes! it works well very much to me!
-
(Remedies for Backache)
  1. Simple and safe exercises: includes walking, swimming and bicycling.
  2. Proper Physical Treatment: to find a right curing so as to treat effectively to the back.
  3. Weight control: start to on diet, eat a littel bit per time and eat four times per day.
  4. Sitting posture: right posture and sit always on a chair with supporting base.
  5. Avoid lifting weight: use right posture to life any object if it is needed
    -

The following picture (Picture 2) showing a chair with supporting base and cushion is demonstrated for your consideration. The total cost is HK$103 (HK$65 for chair, HK$38 for cushion) and shall be relatively inexpensive to a person who suffers from severe backache for a long time...like me. This has taught me a very good lesson, backache is a great problem to me and it makes my smile to disappear on my face. Now my back has been recovered health,...at approximately 80 per cent!

-
Where you can buy the chair and cushion:
Kwong Tai Supermarket (3/F at Wong Tai Sin Shopping Center)

(Picture 2)

-
These remedies are simple and easy to follow, ... not more than HK$103!

INTERPRETATION OF LIFE

Dear friends

It is a sunny day, 8 July 2007.
-
Different people interpret life differently, then how to find out which mode of life is more meaningful than the other? How about you?
-
(A view from Pak Shek BBQ Camp- Topic: Sundown)
-
Some people interpret their lives as "Sundown", they think that all will be finished...including their lives, families, future and whatnot here...However, some do not think so and they interpret their lives as "a short break".. a break for next endeavor or challenge.
-
In the year of 2004, Hong Kong People experienced deeper meaning of life in SARS and In 1997 experienced deeper meaning of "Drop"..If all Hong Kong People choose the former and can not overcome hardships..then the pictures posted above are meaningless here. This depends on what we mean by life!

-

So long we regard life as a series of struggles, cooperation and making contributions, we are able to go through all trials and bravely take up the task of founding an ideal Hong Kong.

Hiking on the stage 4 of Wilson Trail (From W047)

Dear friends

Today is a cloudy day, date on 6th in JULY
-
-
In the noon of this monday, 2 July 07, it was the public holiday following the Hong Kong Adminstrative Region Establishment Day. I selected Stage 4 of the Wilson Trail (the north-south trail) for a half-day hiking because it's in Kowloon, relatively easy to get to from my home, and can be hiked in a late afternoon.
-
I took the privileged light bus to the temple hill along the shatin pass road, and then got off the bus at the "Lion Pavilion", the pavilion is a well-known landmark for hikers and local residents. There is a small shop for soft drinks and noodles at the opposite side of the pavilion. Many hikers or TV stars like taking short break at there after their hiking or broadcasting respectively.
-

(Lion Pavilion)
-

(A beautiful toilet..........May I go to....)
-

(Starting Point- Wilson Trail Route No. W047)
-
History-
Speaking of the history, Shatin Pass is a mountain pass between Temple Hill and Unicorn Ridge in Hong Kong. It is one of major access from Kowloon south to Shatin north before the construction roads and railway. The pass is located north of populous area of Tsz Wan Shan. Many years ago, Shatin was agricultural farmland, its most famous product was "Shatin Pomelo 沙田柚", I remember that, at that time, it was a standing joke for the people who were living in Shatin District, many hong kong people always liked to call their friends to be "Shatin Friends 沙田友" because the pronunciation of "Pomelo" is exactly the same as that of "friends" in Cantonese here...

-
Brief Introductions-
The purpose of that days' hike was to check out a section of trail that I hope my friends can hike later and wanna prepare some useful hiking information for their use and preparation. From the starting point, W047, I descended into a steep trail, both sides of the trail still in the trees during the whole hike but partly along with watercourse, and the path itself is rough and uneven. It is not suitable for the elderly or kids...especially in the rainy season. The trail comes out of the forested area in about 45 minutes because almost 98 per cent of the trail are trees, watercourse...together with dirt and uneven rocks...and whatnot here. I didn't take many pictures for the hiking because a heavy rain began to fall at the time when I reached at W049. Fortunately, I brought a piece of corn (an extensible umbrella) for the hiking and I could keep dry my body..

(Hay, dragonfly!,....so, where I can find Butterfly)
-

(Trail with Uneven rocks)
-
All in all, the trail is quite easy because it's a descending path, but this trail is relatively difficult and looks danagerous to the hikers because it's a dirt, humid and uneven path.. I followed the trail down and ended up in Sha Kok Estate where I caught the public bus (KMB- 89B) back to my home. I got off the privileged light bus that noon at the beginning of the stage at 16:00pm and got on the bus for home at 18:00pm.
