Mid-Autumn Festival

Today is Mid-Autumn Festival, it is also known as "Moon Festival" and is a very popular East-Asian tradition of Chinese origin, dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship in China's Shang Dynasty that spread to neighbouring cultures like Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calender, this year on today is 14 September 2008 in Gregorian calendar.

Yim's Wedding at Mid-Autumn Festival

In this year of Mid-Autumn Festival, it is very important and is a memorable day to one of my best friends, he chose his wedding on 14 September 2008 because he and his wife wanted having a memorable day and celebrating their wedding anniversary together with next Mid-Autumn Festival. His wife said Mid-Autumn Festival will be a reminder to her husband,....so therefore, he should know what shall he do next year.

Avenue of Stars
After his wedding, we took a ramble at Avenue of Stars because this famous avenue is building at the nearby TST cultural center. The Avenue of Stars which is located at the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade was given a glittering official opening on 27 April 2004. This avenue was opened to the public and visitors from all over the world from 28 April 2005 onwards. I took some pictures from there and now wanna share them with you, see the below pictures:

If you want to express your concern with your friend, or to say something to support and encourage your friend, how do you say this in English?

.

A few weeks ago, my friend "Dick" who told me that he was so busy and tired of his current job, he said this at the job site at that moment,, I expressed my concern and spoke to him "Please don't give up, I will always be there for you!".

.

One hour later, he phoned to me and asked where are you now?, I answered him "I am at office and will get off". He said then to me "I am waiting there for you, why don't you come here?". His words confused me because I should not promise him I would go there. ......He told me that you said you will always be there for me but I am still waiting for you".??????

I got back to him, Yes, I said I will always be there for you, but I didn't say I will go there. It is a joke that has confused my friend by a sentence "I will always be there for you", the true meaning of this should be "I will give you my helping hand".

I will always be there for you 是我會永遠支持你, 而不是我會在那裡等你.

正因為這樣, 所以我無在那裡等佢是正常的.

Have you ever heard of the saying such as ......

Have you ever heard of the saying "Life is more than money, and the body is more than anything"? The reason for me to write this article is mainly because I want to say something about your lives and the meaning of the above-mentioned doctrine.

.

Here in Hong Kong has heaps of people who have for the most part been expecting to live in fat city, maybe they think "Money is more than Life", or than their family". In fact, people living at anywhere have to face piles of problems which are put in the classified human files. Those files housing the human problems like "Wealth", "School Work", "Plans to next generation", "Business and perspective"...etc.

.

Human being is a complex animal in the world, the wild animals just live for subsistence and newborn. But people will want more. This morning, I heard a good story from my friend, she said that her father decided to believe Jesus before at extremity ,...The meaning of "at extremity" is the end of a man's life. Why should her father so interested in Jesus' Word? Maybe such doing was the weakness of human being. It is not difficult to be seen in the world, when a man sees himself to the last extremity, he should expect his family to walk with him and to show more care with him.

.

My friend who felt happy because her aged father had believed in Jesus before his father died, as well his father had accepted a simple and formal baptism on the hospital's bed...so holy in him. Let's think of this problem and replan the weightiness of our files, or try to schedule those life files by priority. Our files shall not be housing only for wealth, school works, or plans to our next generation... we should file our religion, tendresse, righteousness and all of our love in them.
